The Old Parish of Nonnington,
or Nonington,
in East Kent.

An illustrated record of its people and places over the centuries.

The ancient parish of Nonington was originally founded by Archbishop Pecham in the 1280's, and lay approximately mid-way between Canterbury and Dover, just to the east of the London to Dover road with Sandwich some six miles to the north-east.  The modern East Kent parishes of Aylesham and  Nonington  were formed when the original parish was divided in the early 1950's,

This site is intended to provide a record of the old parish of Nonington, or Nonnington, from its earliest recorded times up to its division in the early 1950's into the present individual parishes of Aylesham and Nonington.
My intention is  to regularly update the site with new material, so please be patient and return from time to time to view the site and, hopefully, to enjoy the new additions.
